Wedding cake decoration

Sorry, been a bit busy, well actually it was lack of sleep.

Steven's been a bit of a pickle in sleeping, and to top it all next door has had their grandson staying, who decided to wake up screaming a couple of nights running, for about 30/40 mins around 3am. So with Steven getting me up, goodness knows how many times and the baby sceaming, I've felt like death warmed up most of the week, and things took a little longer in completing, especially the accounts.

Anyway bet you didn't think that these two bodies my hubby made, starting with 2 pieces of screwed up tin foil and covered with epoxy putty...

could became this...

Yep, he made Donald and Daisy duck from 2 tins of tin foil and some epoxy putty.

It all came about that when Sam and Matt got engaged, Sam joked, asking her dad, if he could make them a cake topper of Donald and Daisy Duck, as they both love those characters. So over 2 years later, in December 2011, hubby secretly started it, and it was finally completed in September 2012. (remember he works away all week, and on some weekends, he didn't have the time or not in the mood for working on it).

They were presented with it after the wedding rehearsal and as Clive had taken photos while making it, and had put them on a CD with music, to present it to them with the model. They were/are chuffed to bits with it, as am I, and here it is on the cake that was made by Matt's mum.

We had to smile when we saw it, as she had decided to make a daisy shape cake because she knew Sam loved Daisy Duck, so what a double surprise for the kids, to have Donald and Daisy on top of a daisy shape cake, lol... TOTALLY UNIQUE...

More Wedding stuff

Sam wanted to do some goody bags for the younger ones coming. So I did the names on the front is the same colours as the rest of the wedding stationary and stamped some pictures on the bag for them to colour in as well...

She then put things like bubbles, pictures, crayons, pencils and sweets in them...

And of course we couldn't have the very young ones missing out. I downloaded a template off the internet, again using the same card as the rest of the stationary, then added their names, matching ribbon and filled with white chocolate buttons...

There, think that's all my wedding stuff shown, but will leave you with a teaser of the cake decoration my hubby made for them. YES, it's a rolled up piece of tin foil

and the 2 pieces of foil were then covered in epoxy putty to make a couple of bodies....

Can you guess what they become?

Wedding stationary

Well here it all is before I took it round to Sam's, for her to take to the venue. I asked her to check to see if everything was there and if she was happy with it all.

Well the table plan was a bit boring, so luckily as Steven was in respite, I was able to popped round to Sam's with a few bits and pieces to spice it a bit up. There are gold gems under all the table numbers and between Bride and Groom on the top table...

I brought a card box from an ebay shop, which again I spiced up with the hearts and gems (as they are at the bottom of the box, you can see them in the top photo)...

Table numbers...

All the place cards, already in bags to make peoples life easier, lol...

The order of services, I had a stamp especially made of their names and date, as I just couldn't line it up on the front cover...

The 80 Thanks you cards...

Which wasn't enough so knocked another 10 up last Sunday as they were very lucky with presents, money and with people turning up on the day and Sam wanted to thank them for being part of hers and Matt's day...

Done and Dusted

Well have finished all the wedding stationary, good job as the wedding was last Saturday, lol

We had a few hiccups on the morning, with marks on the veil and her tiara breaking, but with the help of baby wipes and a little solder, all worked out fine, thank goodness...

The weather wasn't too bad either. A few light showers, which meant there was a photo mix up, with some being taken in the church, in the grounds and at the venue afterwards.

So the downside, they forgot to take a photo of me and my daughter, in which we are both gutted by this. But with everything going on and the weather, it got forgotten, as did other photos they had asked the photographer to take.

but on the plus side it was a lovely day, she looked gorgeous and the groom handsome....

So this means I can start getting back to normal, YEAH (whatever that is, lol). I'm in the process of getting the house tidy and doing the quarterly accounts for both the business and Steven.

But hopefully will blog the wedding stuff I did and more wedding photos soon, am also looking forward to scrapping again, think I'm wedding out at the moment though, so hope to start on Steven's 21st.
