Can you count.....

Staining a bench green 'crafting' if YES, then I've done some, YIPPEE...

as the last few days been re-coating our picnic bench ready for the lovely summer we will (hopefully) have, lol... It's taken about 4 days in all, as had to do it round Steven because of it being school holidays

We've had a bit of a set back with going out and about like we normally do, as last weekend I noticed Steven had blisters on the top of both he's big toes, (great a Bank Holiday weekend)... I came to the conclusion he might have out grown he's boots... So first thing Tuesday morning I started phoning the Hospital (as he wears special Piedro boots), no answer, left messages, no one got back to me, so after lunch I found myself putting Steven in the car and driving down to the hospital, to be told sorry we have no appointment available this week, but I'm not happy with that, especially when my son is in a discomfort... did get told that the other Hospital would have someone that might see him on the Wednesday morning, so went home, then we got up at the crack of dawn Wednesday morning, to go to the other Hospital...

HOORAY, there I found a friendly face, it was one of the people that have seen Steven in the past, so she sorted it, ordered one new pair of boots, it seems Steven has grown nearly 2 whole sizes, BUT now it's the waiting... (I did ask if I could buy a second pair, but was told not allowed, also checked the Internet and unless you're a professional you are not allowed to buy them, great)...

The only thing that totally cheesed me off, was this Orthotic lady was at the first Hospital the day before and if the receptionist had used her brain, she could have buzz through and she would have seen Steven there. Like she said, would have saved me another trip to this Hospital... OK I didn't mind the second trip, but it would have meant he's new boots could have been ordered a whole 24 hours earlier, might not sound a lot to others, but when the last ones took nearly 8 weeks to come, it is, I can assure you.... I good mind to ask the receptionist how she would like to wear shoes/boot nearly 2 sizes too small for her...

So at the moment I'm wheeling Steven round in he's wheelchair, but today did buy some stiff sided trainers and am going to put Stevens insoles in them, I know he won't have the support on he's ankles, but I think it's the best solution I can come up with...

YEAH we're in the final....

Yes Pompey are in the FA Cup final at Wembley on May the 15th, as we beat, yes BEAT...

Harry Rednapp team Tottenham Hotspur... 0-2

and what did Mr Rednapp say about he's team loosing, he moaned about the pitch as being disgraceful, yet this is a manager of a team that is looking for a Champions League place and there is Pompey who yesterday got relegated to the The Championship...

So in my eyes the best team won...

as they both had to play on that disgraceful pitch, just a shame Harry could not take the loosing gracefully....

YES (sorry Sue) BUT THE BEST TEAM WON, LOL

South Coast bikers

Well it was that time of year again, for the bikers to ride with Easter eggs (over 500) and money raised and donated for my son's school and it's pupils... we had 190 bikes turn up (they were hoping to make it to the 200 mark, but not quite there yet)...

This one was extra special for us, as it will be Steven's last ever one as a pupil of the school as he leaves this July and the next ride won't be till Christmas...

Steven was a little cheesed off with me dragging him into school on a Saturday, but he loved the coming and going of the bikes, the noise, the horns beeping, OK he did still have to hold my hand, as still a little unsure of the noise and roaring of the engines, (even though he's been attending these events for the last 15 years, lol)...

Also thought you might like to see the bikes that the school bought with the money raised and donated by the bikers from the Christmas ride...

FAB aren't they.....

March ATC

The March ATC challenge was set by Alma on do-crafts and the theme was NON-ALCOHOLIC DRINK, so I did 'tea' as I bought some cute buttons while at the craft show in Farnborough last month...

I was to send it to Tania, which she hopefully has received by now (so just got it in in March, lol, I was very slow with this month, but just not had a minute to myself)...

I cut out the size of the ATC from the packing of Stevens new bedding, and picked the top off to show the corrugated piece, (been looking at Val's blog and her fantasitc work)...

I stained it with a used tea bag, lol... the writing was cut using the Sizzix Neon Mini Decorative strip and all coated in matt mod podge...

Am off out for a meal to Chiquito, Port Solent later with hubby, Steven, daughter and her fiance, whihc I'm looking forward to, as we've not been out as a family for ages...

My brain is all a mash...

I've got the double glazing starting on Tuesday at Sam's house, also the plumber should be there tomorrow to rip out the bathroom and get it plastered ready for a new suite... I've got the kitchen designed just need to see if we can afford a builder to fit it, or will be have to do it ourselves...

Have also been trying to plan Stevens student pad, I've now got he's bedding, paint and a new unit, but have to work out how to decorate he's bedroom without him going into one, cos it's changing, think I'll have to do a wall at a time, but that will have to be in school hours, lol... also want to change he's carpet and have bought him this new unit from Ikea....which I bought and collected last weds, it was a bit of a struggle cos of the weight (97kg) so couldn't take anyone with me to give me a hand, as not sure how my poor little micra would have coped with the added weight, lol... but a very nice man came to my rescue in putting it in the car, (just wish he had been around to help me lug it on the trolley in Ikea, lol).... and when I got home, I was again very lucky, as my neighbours grandson had just came to visit her, so yes he gave me a hand in getting it into the garage, but WOW, it was a draining morning, lol.... so it's just working out what I do first in he's room...

I've also got a 42 page document to go through from the meeting of last Thursday, as I'm now on a partnership board (am one of the people representing carers) to do with learning disabilities for adults, and this has to be signed off by the end of the month, but they want the carers side done this Tuesday... to be honest, I felt the meeting was going over my head, but afterwards talking to others they said the same, that's why we all have to really scrutinize this document and answer truthfully, as I for one, will be quick enough to moan if there's not enough out there for Steven....

trouble is, after the elections, things might all change again :-(

Yeah....

I'm a great aunt again, Alfie has a little baby brother called Charlie Ryan, he was born at 11.25 this morning and weighed in at 6lbs and 5oz... Not seen him yet, hoping to pop round there tomorrow, either before or after my school meeting...

I didn't know he was born till late this afternoon (even though they txt me straight away), as my phone was turned off as was at the Civic Offices in a meeting with the partnership board for leaning disabilities... so it was fab news after a heavy session in there, (got another one next Tuesday)....

No photos as yet of Charlie, as my new mobile does not do photos, after Alfie and Orlando were born I was lucky enough to get photos straight away too, so not a happy bunny, lol, but have asked my nephew to send some via email as I cannot wait to see him, not sure how Alfie will take it, he's 2 and a half... that will be interesting, lol...

So I've now got 2 great nieces and 3 great nephews, ranging from just 9 hours old to 10 years old, lol... I'm so lucky....
