Look what I've been getting in the post...

...as over the last few months I have been receiving some lovely home made gifts from my friends on do-crafts...

I've been lucky enough to receive a fantastic dotee doll, this time from Alma (greenhaze) on do-crafts website, it was such a lovely surprise, totally unsuspected, thank you so much Alma,

dotee's are beautiful little fabric friendship dolls, hand made and embellished by crafters and then posted out to others for swaps or just as a way of making someone smile and making friends.

It fact it was Alma (greenhaze) who originally posted a link to Dot's blog on do-crafts last year, that started it all off with Alma and Sue-bubbles swapping a dotee...

I then got this lovely little Christmas one from Sue-bubbles, again from the do-crafts site, doesn't she look lovely on my Christmas tree....

Tracy(dagbid2001) sent me this book marker, it's got a lovely ladybird on it....

I got this lovely box from Sall...

then lastly got this lovely heart dotee from jenni...

I wish to thank you all so much, they have really cheered me up...

Make It Show

my stash haul from the 'Make It' show in Farnborough, which I went to yesterday, with my auntie that started me in card making (nearly 5 years ago).

I got some clear A4 boxes (so I can carry on sorting my stash out) square cards and envelopes in cream and white, cream DL cards and envelopes, red A6 cards, Bind-it-all wires, alphabet and crystal peel offs, pearlescent card and paper, small eyelets, glue runners, scissors, bottle tops, wooden laser cut embellishments, 2 cuttlebug embossing folders (to do edges) book of mens backing card, sheets of Penny Black stickers, some of the little mini alphabet stamps, acetate, and some little sunflowers....

....and with what my auntie bought, we had and had to make 2 trips back to the car during the day, (OK managed to get a lift on one of those trolleys), lol.....

Get up and go...

...has got up and gone...

well it's been one of those weeks, just haven't the energy for anything, and the worse thing was Steven had 2 evenings out, sports club on Monday and bowling on Tues, where with 'normal' children, you might be a taxi service, in my case you're not only the taxi service but also the entertainer too, so running around trying to get him to play table tennis, volley ball, badminton, lets just say, the mood he was in, even football was too much hard work for him...

...and as for bowling, well not sure why I even bothered, he's mind was elsewhere looking anywhere than where he was suppose to be, like which ball to pick up and to carry it to the lane and place it on the floor and push it down the ally, well I have never waited so so for the ball to reach the skittles in fact the machine started clearing away before the ball even reach them lol.

Went shopping Monday, out to our big Asda (12 mile round trip) to realized as I got to get out the car, no hand bag, which meant no way of paying for the shopping. Then is was what do I do, as coming out of Portsmouth I commented to myself how busy it was getting into Pompey and hoped it had sorted itself out by the time I had finished shopping...

so went to customer services and asked if I did my shop, could I leave the trolley load with them and then go home and get my bag, in the hoping the traffic would have calmed down my then...well the shop is usually quiet on a Monday morning and this Monday was no exception, so was back in the car by 9.15, leaving the trolley... traffic was better did have to do a slight de-toured but got home, got my bag and drove back to pay and collect my shopping, (another 12 mile round trip) and was home all sorted by 10.15, half an hour later than normal...so not a good start to week...

While I was at Asda bought a sensory light bulb (£12), when opened found an ordinary Asda light bulb in there, someone had switched them, so had to phone up, was on hold for customers services for 3 mins, but they said fine, bring it back (oh the joys of another 12 mile round trip, lol) I said could it be next Monday, when I do my weeks shop said, 'yes', then after putting the phone down to them realized it's half term, I don't shop in school holidays, as not fair on Steven, and cannot stand other peoples children running riot, lol

Another upset was that I put an order in for crafts u love as free P&P till the Monday, as saw some stickers that would be good for Stevens thank you cards, only to be emailed to say out of stock, lol so back to the drawing board...

Then the other night I saw that Brenda Pinnick had moved her blog so I put in her new addy in my favorites, then went to delete the old addy to find I had deleted all the blogs that I visit, and of course at the weekend I had a tidy up of my favorite blogs, so did not have any of the addresses anywhere...

... my mind went blank to what are the ones I used to looked at, then did have a brainwave to check out the scrapbook apprentice website as I knew CC was still there, clinked on her linked then went through her favorites, then when I found one saved it, then went through their favorites, and so on...

...so hopefully got them all back, well eventually made it to the end of the week, and am in some ways pleased it's half term, as no clock watching and rushing out the house every morning, and I enjoy spending time with Steven, so far have book a bowling lane for Monday to look forward too...

...the down side to half term is, no housework, shopping, gym or crafting, as too tired being out and about everyday entertaining Steven...

MAGS

Fooled you, lol

bet you thought I was going to talk about Magazines....

but no, it's about a visit to my son's school...
here are a few photos we took when we were at the school for the Christmas M.A.G run, (Motorbike Action Group), who are a bunch (around 50 plus) bikers, who go round raising money and buying Christmas presents for the children of the special school that Steven attends. It was really grotty weather, had floods all round Portsmouth, but they braved the elements so not to let the children down. I seem to be taking them and getting them developed quite quickly but it's getting the time to scrap them, lol....

notelets

Been thinking about what presents to make this month for Christmas, was thinking about either decorated notebooks or hand towels, not sure.

Then I realised I'd not shown the the packs of notelets I made for Christmas last year, they're were 16 cards and envelopes in each wallet, 8 'just a note' and 8 'Thanks You', and were tied with sheer ribbon that I had picked up when I was on holiday in America a couple of years back.

I used coloured, silver and gold peel off's, which some were coloured in with sakura jelly roll pens,

It did take me quite a while to get the wallet template the right size to fit the cards I had, and they were determined on the size envelope I could get.

but got there in the end, and was happy with the results and so were the people who received them...

monthly craft update

A reminder of Gina's challenge -make one item for Christmas every two weeks...
well have made 3 countdown to Christmas blackboards that was first shown on CC blog here I changed it from 'sleeps' to 'days'.
The blackboards were
bought from hobbycraft, and painted with some metalic paint I already had.

A few Thank you go to...
Gina for setting the challenge... to Caroline for a great project and... to Sue-bubbles for the buttons, (as I couldn't find any locally, she very kindly went through her foof-a-La ones she had and sent me some).

I've also started on the 52 questions, where you have to answer a question every week, this blog and challenge was found by Jackie on do-crafts, photos to follow tomorrow...

well I also combined the above challenge with CC Challenge - to dig out a kit that we've had for ages and put it together, so in light of that I'm using the smaller of the 2 pads that I bought off QVC last March 08 when they were at a special price, (set of 2 Flavia punchout pads with messages, borders, alphabets and papers Peaches and Pomegranates 585751).

I think I've done pretty well last month, lets hope I can continue in Feb...
