So what have I...

been doing these last few weeks....

Well have been be sorting out what Steven will be doing when he leaves school in 6 weeks time... I've been visiting places, asking questions and talking to people that are already out in the community...

I've made a choice of few private day centres, and now the social worker has to take it to panel to see what funding we can get towards it... but the way things are going, I'm not sure the outcome as they're already been cut backs, starting with the social services closing their doors to new intakes. So hence why I've had to look at private day centre (The Government want the venerable out in the community, so have been closing their day centres)...

Also I've been helping Sam move into her house, well started and finished helping her, I did 5 cars loads before the Bank Holiday weekend, which looked like this when I left it in her spare bedroom...

(I'm still surprised at what you can fit into the back of the Micra)...

then hubby, Steven and I nipped off for the weekend away to a steam railway (Steven's belated 18th Birthday present, so only a year and 2 months late, lol)...and left Sam and Matt to carry on moving her stuff, then this week I've done another 2 car loads to finish it off, also a couple of trips to the tip, so am nearly left with an empty attic... There is still her wardrobe, ottoman, bedside cabinet and her dressing table/desk up there...

and lastly, have slowly been sorting Stevens things back into he's new look bedroom, I'm are nearly there, it's just the changing of he's bedding now, but will keep he's Thomas the Tank rugs on the floor as have not found anything to replace them yet....

So most evenings I've been falling asleep on the settee after Seven has gone to bed, as going up and down 2 flights of stairs with Sam's stuff and lugging it into the car, then lugging it out the car and up one flight of stairs to their back bedroom, gets you a little sweaty and tired, lol... also it's been emotional as well as draining, with all the meetings for Steven :-(
(the not knowing)...

I am slowly trying to catch up with all the blogs I read and my emails, but sorry if I've not got to yours as yet, I will get there, lol...

Oh Maria, I feel pooped just reading your post, poor you!! you have been sooooo busy!

I'm sorry things are still so unclear about Steven and his day care, it makes me cross that you have to go through so much to get some funding and more help, I'm sending you a zillion sparkles for some good news soon :)

All that running about with Sam's move too, gosh! who needs a gym?! lol!
Does this mean you may gain a craft room now Maria? oh, I do hope so!
It would be lovely to have a little room to call your own, and fill with so many of your wonderful goodies!

Sending you hugs and sparkles
Suzie xxxxxx :)

Gosh Maria, I think I need a little lie down just after reading what you have been up to! Bless you and Steven, it's not right that you have had to fight for everything, no wonder you are tired.

Your weekend away sounded lovely, hope Steven enjoyed his birthday trip!

I also hope that Sam is settling into her new home.

A whole loft conversion Craft Studio! WOW! (Will it be big enough to house ALL your stash?!!!)

Hope life calms down a bit for you soon, and maybe we can meet for that coffee ...

Big hugs

Sorry to here Steven day care is so unclear, I do hate the way things are closing down and people are being left to fight for even the most basic of care I do hope you get some help with that funding.

You must be worn out moving all Sam,s stuff

Wow an attic craft space sounds fun

Gosh you lazy thing Maria, sitting around doing nothing as usual!!!
Hopefully you can see light at the end of the tunnel now with Sam's house.
It's incredible that funding is being cut - just look at all the money that is wasted on stupid stuff (and those bloody MP's expenses). What is sad is that David Cameron's late son was special needs so you would think he would understand the problems families face, obviously not. In fact I might have to send him a letter and tell him what I think.

Good grief Maria - I'm not surprised you're pooped. I'm exhausted just reading of yur exploits. When are you going to get a little Maria time - you certainly deserve it missus.

Still, it's good to hear from you. What a worry about Steven, I dread to think about what will happen when Ross turns 18, so I just ignore it just now. I'm a coward I know.

Anyway, keep in touch and hugs to you and yours.

Hi it's Maria said...

thanks ladies for your support over Steven's future...xx

it is a little worrying, not only for the funding but also the thought of having to get used to new people looking after him :-(

but do feel confident with the places I've chosen...

and when I feel wound up, I can take it out on the lilac paintwork in the attic, lol...

and gill, I totally agree with you, don't worry too soon, things are changing all the time and hopefully things will be better by the time it's Ross turn, hugs...
