Belated Christmas wishes

It seemed when I did get time to get onto the PC and check onto my blog or others, it would crash or freeze, so pleased things look as if they are back to normal... saying that not tried to get onto any other blogs yet tonight, so fingers crossed...

Anyway I would like to wish all my friends and family some belated Christmas wishes and hope you were all fit and healthy and had a good one...

YEAH got another great neice...x

Bethany Rose

Who was born this morning weighing in at 7lbs 3oz...

I think she's already going to be a little madam, as was 10 days late, lol... but at least she's here in time for Christmas, as wouldn't want to have to take her Christmas presents back to the shops, hehehe...

They're now safely home and had a text to say I'm welcome to pop into see them tomorrow, yeah, oh that's only if I'm not too busy... As if I'll be busy this time of the year, lol, well not when it comes to seeing a lovely bundle of joy and her brothers...

I hope everyone is all sorted and ready for Christmas, Steven and hubby break up tomorrow afternoon, so for me, it's a visit to the butchers for the meat first thing, then the last bit of tidying and running the hoover through, oh and visiting Bethany and family of course, lol...

Have a good Christmas everyone... xxx

Bits for December Daily

Well today, Steven arrived late home from his day centre (got caught in traffic), so I made the most of the time and shot upstairs to my Arty Attic and went through my Christmas stuff for using in my DD...

I dug out bits and pieces that had blues in them...

I cannot wait to get started now, have been taking photos and hopefully will print them off on my pogo after littlen has gone to bed. I've decide to just do days that I want to record rather than a daily one.

I've been taking notes of special days since December started, like my annual Christmas shopping trip with my daughter, putting the tree and decorations up etc. so hopefully will have some pages to show you soon.

OK still not sure what to call it now, as cannot be a December Daily, when I'm not doing it every day, lol... clean suggestions welcome please...

December Daily

Well this year thought I would go for it, then Gina very kindly said she would make me the book, which arrived a few days ago...

She also sent me some odds and bobs to go inside too...

Here a few of the pages...

Now to start it, but as I've had a bit of a week, with meetings, doctors and rushing Steven to hospital one evening, (it's OK, he's fine now). That I'm not sure if I want to journal every day, as there will be days I want to forget...

Saying that, it's also the time, I cannot believe how many people do seem to find it, but I don't seem to have enough hours in the day and I only work part time, lol.

Am lucky my drop in carers group finished last week, so can take a step back from emailing and organising speakers till after Christmas...

Anyway, I will update as I go along and look forward to seeing what others come up with, but now to start the weeks ironing :(

Christmas tags

The other week I managed to make my Christmas tags, but got a little carried away and ended up making 52, lol...

I think it's because I can do them in stages and can be done downstairs while Steven watches his DVDs, (as could put down quickly, when he wants something)...

Sleeps till Christmas

Last week Sam asked me if I could make her one of the gingerbread chalkboards for a friend, I said yes, so on Monday she turned up after work with a board from hobbycraft...

Anyway I set to work after Steven went to bed Monday evening, but on looking through my stash found I didn't have any gingham ribbon or the right colour buttons. I did try fabric land, but they had nothing, so had to resort to tartan ribbon and also coloured some buttons...

Anyway, it was ready for her to pick up Friday morning to give to her friend on the way to work...

Yesterday I dug mine out along with my gingerbread yankee candle train, it being the 1st of December....

I just love the smell of the cinnamon stick tart... x

Christmas cards done and dusted

Yes have finished my 103 Christmas cards, but as a little fed up with cream, gold and burgundy colours because of the wedding, I decided to go contemporary,...

And also to save time I made them in batches, so even though 103 were made they were divided into 4 different types of cards...

These were made using Marianne dies...

A cuttlebug embossing folder, which was one of the first I brought, some 8 years ago was used for these cards...

Spellbinder dies...

And finally I used some folded up docraft Christmas paper and Hunkydory Christmas sentiments, in fact all the 103 cards had Hunkydory sentiments, as they matched the colours of the cards just right...

Now for making my gift tags, oh and I've still got to write out the cards yet, lol...

On a crafty roll...

OK very, very simple pages, as they paper said it all...

I carefully cut round some of the leaves, so I could tuck the photos behind, as felt the trees were part of the photos...

Also here is the card I did Sam and Matt, I just had to use the photo of the cake decoration her dad made for her...

Again very simple, but that's my way of crafting, lol. I've actually started on my Christmas cards last week too... So in all, am on a crafty roll.

Wedding cake decoration

Sorry, been a bit busy, well actually it was lack of sleep.

Steven's been a bit of a pickle in sleeping, and to top it all next door has had their grandson staying, who decided to wake up screaming a couple of nights running, for about 30/40 mins around 3am. So with Steven getting me up, goodness knows how many times and the baby sceaming, I've felt like death warmed up most of the week, and things took a little longer in completing, especially the accounts.

Anyway bet you didn't think that these two bodies my hubby made, starting with 2 pieces of screwed up tin foil and covered with epoxy putty...

could became this...

Yep, he made Donald and Daisy duck from 2 tins of tin foil and some epoxy putty.

It all came about that when Sam and Matt got engaged, Sam joked, asking her dad, if he could make them a cake topper of Donald and Daisy Duck, as they both love those characters. So over 2 years later, in December 2011, hubby secretly started it, and it was finally completed in September 2012. (remember he works away all week, and on some weekends, he didn't have the time or not in the mood for working on it).

They were presented with it after the wedding rehearsal and as Clive had taken photos while making it, and had put them on a CD with music, to present it to them with the model. They were/are chuffed to bits with it, as am I, and here it is on the cake that was made by Matt's mum.

We had to smile when we saw it, as she had decided to make a daisy shape cake because she knew Sam loved Daisy Duck, so what a double surprise for the kids, to have Donald and Daisy on top of a daisy shape cake, lol... TOTALLY UNIQUE...

More Wedding stuff

Sam wanted to do some goody bags for the younger ones coming. So I did the names on the front is the same colours as the rest of the wedding stationary and stamped some pictures on the bag for them to colour in as well...

She then put things like bubbles, pictures, crayons, pencils and sweets in them...

And of course we couldn't have the very young ones missing out. I downloaded a template off the internet, again using the same card as the rest of the stationary, then added their names, matching ribbon and filled with white chocolate buttons...

There, think that's all my wedding stuff shown, but will leave you with a teaser of the cake decoration my hubby made for them. YES, it's a rolled up piece of tin foil

and the 2 pieces of foil were then covered in epoxy putty to make a couple of bodies....

Can you guess what they become?

Wedding stationary

Well here it all is before I took it round to Sam's, for her to take to the venue. I asked her to check to see if everything was there and if she was happy with it all.

Well the table plan was a bit boring, so luckily as Steven was in respite, I was able to popped round to Sam's with a few bits and pieces to spice it a bit up. There are gold gems under all the table numbers and between Bride and Groom on the top table...

I brought a card box from an ebay shop, which again I spiced up with the hearts and gems (as they are at the bottom of the box, you can see them in the top photo)...

Table numbers...

All the place cards, already in bags to make peoples life easier, lol...

The order of services, I had a stamp especially made of their names and date, as I just couldn't line it up on the front cover...

The 80 Thanks you cards...

Which wasn't enough so knocked another 10 up last Sunday as they were very lucky with presents, money and with people turning up on the day and Sam wanted to thank them for being part of hers and Matt's day...

Done and Dusted

Well have finished all the wedding stationary, good job as the wedding was last Saturday, lol

We had a few hiccups on the morning, with marks on the veil and her tiara breaking, but with the help of baby wipes and a little solder, all worked out fine, thank goodness...

The weather wasn't too bad either. A few light showers, which meant there was a photo mix up, with some being taken in the church, in the grounds and at the venue afterwards.

So the downside, they forgot to take a photo of me and my daughter, in which we are both gutted by this. But with everything going on and the weather, it got forgotten, as did other photos they had asked the photographer to take.

but on the plus side it was a lovely day, she looked gorgeous and the groom handsome....

So this means I can start getting back to normal, YEAH (whatever that is, lol). I'm in the process of getting the house tidy and doing the quarterly accounts for both the business and Steven.

But hopefully will blog the wedding stuff I did and more wedding photos soon, am also looking forward to scrapping again, think I'm wedding out at the moment though, so hope to start on Steven's 21st.
